But so I have been so busy and the stress is getting to me a bit. I told myself I would take the weekend off from designing.. but Not sure I have the ablity to stay away LOL Now if I had something to do Away from home I could easily do it but when I am at home Its hard not to come to the computer and check email or forums. Jeanette wrote:
You may or may not know that I ama contributing`author to a book about life as a mother of a child with Down Syndrome. It is a collection of stories from over 50 Moms, and it is a really amazing book!

Anyways, one of the little girls that is featured in the book is one and a half year old Chelsea! This sweet little girl has just been diagnosed with Actue Myelogenous Leukemia! For those who don't know, this requires many, many chemotherapy treatments and an extremely long stay in the hospital. Chelsea has been in treatment for about a month now, and is such a trooper!!

As you can well imagine, this experience is a very expensive one, both emotionally and financially for the family. Chelsea has an older brother that she can rarely see for fear of Chelsea catching a virus, because she has no immune system due to the chemo. Her mother Cary has been staying with Chelsea most of the time, occasionally getting some sleep at the local Ronald McDonald House.

The Kit should be for sale soon Hope you will keep your eyes open for it... that little girl is so precious and could use your help! :) HUGS!!

Cold!!!! and a Freebie

Yep thats right.. cold... I finally caved in and turned on the furnace this morning.. I have been trying to hold off.. Its a propane furnace so it gets expensive.. not sure how it is compared to electricity right now.. but either way... it was cold!!! so I needed to turn it on.. At least just for the morning... yes I can take being cold but when I am shivering and the boys are here I do NOT want them to catch colds again...

Okay I have questions about homeschooling.. if I were to do so how would I go about starting something like that? Just curious... I would love to look into it but what if I dont teach them all they should know by each age... or grade level? Guess I just know how it all works.

More layouts and a Freebie

Whats been going on? Not much actually its getting colder here in good Old Nebraska. Nights are almost freezing and the days are pretty cool till it gets mid day then its back to cool again. Definitely fall.. Been thinking about Christmas too.. I never knew how hard it would be to buy kids gifts that wont make you go broke... SERIOUSLY its hard!!! and Curtis is picky.. the other 2 any toys will do.. they will play with anything. But Curtis is getting older he has his own tastes now he is more of a military boy.. not so much Cars anymore unless they are going to be able to drive his soldiers.. or "Clone Troopers"(star wars) to the battlefield. And he loves legos because he can make his own soldiers and robots from them LOL hes pretty creative LOL Anyway.. so I find myself having to dig deeper in the toy sections to find just the right stuff. :) Now I know why Christmas can be so stressful. LOL and why we have to start so early to plan for it. LOL

So I have been so HAPPY about the new CT :) they are doing a BEAUTIFUL JOB!!! and their layouts are magnificent!!! And they Dug right in.. I am so happy to show you the layouts they have done!!!

Here are some more CT layouts I didn't get to show you yesterday! :)

************************************Fact of the Day***********************************

>> The first paper roll towel- the ScotTowel. <<

There is a story that in 1907, a teacher in Philadelphia blamed a mild cold epidemic on the fact that students used the same cloth towel. So she cut up paper into squares and used them as individual towels. Around that time Scott was experimenting with a new type of crepe tissue. It was so thick that it couldn't be cut and rolled into toilet paper. So Arthur Scott ordered it to be made into rolls of towels and perforated into individual 13" x 18" sheets. This was called the Sani-Towels. Advertisements said, " For use once by one user." Success was helped by states that outlawed the use of cloth-roll towels because of spreading disease.

>> When and where was toilet paper first invented? << *China…AD 1391 - The Bureau of Imperial Supplies began producing 720,000 sheets of toilet paper a year, each sheet measuring two feet by three feet. For use by the Emperors. *USA…1857 - New Yorker Joseph C. Gayetty produced the first packaged bathroom tissue in the United States in 1857. The Gayetty Firm from New Jersey produced the first toilet paper named "The Therapeutic Paper". It contained an abundance of aloe, a curative addition. The company sold it in packs of 500 sheets for fifty cents, and Joseph Gayetty had his name printed on each sheet! *USA…1890 - The Scott Paper Company is the first company to manufacture tissue on a roll, specifically for the use of toilet paper. Faced with the consumers' resistance toward the "unmentionable" product, Scott came up with the idea of customizing rolls for every merchant-customer they had. Under this private-label arrangement, Scott purchased large "jumbo" rolls of paper from various paper mills and converted them into packages of small rolls and stacked sheets. *Great Britain…1880- British Perforated Paper Company

Hoffa's Middle Name
Jimmy Hoffa, president of the Teamsters a labor union from 1957 until 1971, is best known in popular culture for his mysterious disappearance and presumed death in 1975. It's ironic, perhaps, that Hoffa's middle name was Riddle

Elvis Had a Twin
Most people consider Elvis exceptional, unique, and one-of-a-kind. Yet, Elvis had a twin brother (Jesse Garon) who died at birth. What would the world have been like with both Elvis and his twin? Would Jesse have been anything like his brother? We are left only to wonder.

************************************Fact of the Day***********************************

The First Star on the Walk of Fame
Designed by artist Oliver Weismuller, the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California consists of 2,500 stars embedded into the sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. Stars honored on the Walk of Fame must have made professional accomplishments in one of five categories: motion pictures, television, recording, live theater, or radio. (Under the name on each honoree, an icon depicts the category for which the star was awarded.)
On February 9, 1960, the very first star was awarded to actress Joanne Woodward. Within a year and half, over 1,500 of the stars were filled with names. Currently, over 2,300 of the stars have been awarded and two new stars are awarded each month.

>> An early advertisement <<

Scott advertisements were suggesting that "over 65% of middle-aged men and women suffered from some sort of rectal disease". Inferior toilet paper was deemed to be responsible. It was printed in Scott advertisements that "harsh toilet tissue may cause serious injury". The ad said " ScotTissue, Sani-tissue and Waldorf are famous bathroom tissues specifically processed to satisfy the three requirements doctors say toilet tissue must have to be safe: absorbency-softness-chemical purity". Each sheet, it said was made of "thirsty fibers." Scott tissue was made from the finest ingredients and "they are neither acid nor alkaline in reaction. Each sheet is fully sterilized in manufacture" it read.

************************************Fact of the Day***********************************

Slinky's Name
Most toys are just fads that last for a few years and then go out of style. However, the Slinky toy has been a favorite since it first hit shelves in 1945. The advertising jingle ("It's Slinky, it's Slinky, for fun it's a wonderful toy. It's fun for a girl and a boy.") still resonates among young and old alike. But how did this simple and yet incredibly fun toy get its beginning? It all started one day in 1943 when engineer Richard James dropped a tension spring on the ground and saw how it moved. Thinking he might be on to something a bit more fun and universal than a tension spring, he took the spring home to his wife, Betty, and the two of them tried to come up with a name for this potential toy. After searching and searching, Betty found the word "slinky" in the dictionary which meant sinuous and stealthy. And since then, stairs have never been left alone.

************************************Fact of the Day***********************************

Tug-of-War
Personally, I haven't played the game of tug-of-war since I was in elementary school. Five students holding one end of a long rope and another five holding the other end. I'd like to proudly say that my team won, but I have distant memories of being dragged over the muddy center line. Today, tug-of-war is a game that most adults relegate to those still in their youth, but did you know that tug-of-war used to be an official Olympic Games event?

Since tug-of-war has been a game played by adults for centuries, it became an official event at the second modern Olympic Games in 1900. However, it's time as an official Olympic event was short-lived and it was last played at the Olympics at the 1920 Games. Tug-of-war was not the only event to be added and then later removed from the Olympic Games; golf, lacrosse, rugby, and polo also shared its fate.

************************************Fact of the Day***********************************

Gerald Ford's Real Name
Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States, was known for most of his life as Gerald "Jerry" Ford. However, Ford was not born with this name. Gerald Ford was born in 1913 as Leslie King Jr., named after his father. Unfortunately, his biological father was abusive and so his mother divorced Leslie King Sr. shortly after Ford's birth. Two years later, Ford's mother met and married Gerald Ford Sr. and Ford's family began to call him Gerald Ford Jr. rather than Leslie King Jr. Although from about age two Ford was known as Gerald Ford Jr., the name change was not made official until December 3, 1935, when Ford was 22 years old.

The First Dot Com
Half a century ago, no one in the world would have had a personal computer of their own and most would not even have been able to describe a computer to you. Now, in the 21st century, we live in a world filled with dot-somethings. We have .com extensions on website addresses for companies and .edu extensions for schools. We have URL extensions for nearly every country (such as .ls for Lesotho) and newer extensions such as .nom for personal websites and .travel for travel-related websites.
Surrounded by dot extensions, have you ever stopped to wonder what website was the very first to be a dot-com? That honor was claimed on March 15, 1985, when Symbolics.com registered their domain name.

Rapido!

Rapido.. does everything seem to be going by so fast... I mean seriously.. Halloween is not too far off then Thanksgiving and Christmas... Wasn't it just yesterday that we were thinking.. WOW 2007!!!! and wasn't it the day before that we thought.. WOW!!!! the new Millennium!!! Seriously.. does time really go that slow when you are younger... and then all the sudden you grow up and you realize just how fast time really is going? Now here a REAL question... how come when you are Pregnant.. time seems to move in slow motion but then when its over and you look back on it.. It seems you were only pregnant for like 4 days.. (skinny, medium skinny, big, Fat) 4 days.. LOL HAHAHA... But now.. its seems like all the days mesh together.. you wake up one morning and you go to bed at night and in that short "12" hours 3 days have actually passed. LOL WHERE does the time go? and WHO has some to Spare? I Really need to get a surplus going of time. MAYBE then I could get more done!!!!

Okay.. LOL on to other things:)

Today is Clearing Day.. Some of my past Freebies are going to be disappearing today... I wont make the most recent ones but I need to clear it out to make room for new freebies and to make room for Newsletter stuff... and reminder on the side bar there is a chat box... stop and say Hi :) and on the side bar is a list of Previews of the mega kits that each of the stores have up..

Hoover Flags
When the U.S. stock market crashed in 1929, President Herbert Hoover attempted to stop the U.S. economy from spiraling into what has become known as the Great Depression. Although President Hoover took action, most people agree that it just wasn't enough. Upset at Hoover, people began to give items that represented the economic crisis negative nicknames. For instance, shanty towns became known as "Hoovervilles." "Hoover blankets" were newspapers that homeless people used to protect themselves from the cold. "Hoover flags" were pants pockets that had been turned inside out, symbolizing a lack of money. "Hoover wagons" were old cars pulled by horses since their owners could no longer pay for gas.

When I was growing up... (this is where you would insert your rolling eyes and say Your old) We would go out tricker or treating and there would be snow on the ground... and if it didn't snow because it was TOOO cold we would be wearing our costume over a layer of clothes and a Winter coat over all of it.. ************************************Fact of the Day***********************************

The Nickname "Tin Lizzie"
Priced so that the average American could afford it, Henry Ford sold his Model T from 1908 until 1927. Many also may know the Model T by its nickname, the "Tin Lizzie." But how did the Model T get its nickname?

In the early 1900s, car dealers would try to create publicity for their new automobiles by hosting car races. In 1922, a championship race was held in Pikes Peak, Colorado. Entered as one of the contestants was Noel Bullock and his Model T, named "Old Liz." Since Old Liz looked the worse for wear (it was unpainted and lacked a hood), many spectators compared Old Liz to a tin can. By the start of the race, the car had the new nickame of "Tin Lizzie." To everyone's surprise, Tin Lizzie won the race.
Having beaten even the most expensive other cars available at the time, Tin Lizzie proved both the durability and speed of the Model T. The surprise win of Tin Lizzie was reported in newspapers across the country, leading to the use of the nickname "Tin Lizzie" for all Model T cars.

Update, Call, FREEBIE!!

ALERT~~~ The Templates and ShadowBoxes at MOOTwo and Make It Scrappy.. are going to sooon Disapper.... if you want them you BETTER hurry!!!! They will be retired!!!

Alright.. thought I would give you a bit of a family update. ;)

Erin, Well today Erin is working for the post office. He hasn't gotten much time over there but I think since its harvest season it may pick up a bit more.. The guy that he subs for is a Farmer... And so I am sure he will be getting ready for winter.. anyway... We still haven't heard if he got that job yet.. something about government jobs takes forever.. I think if anyone in the world knows how to stall... Its our government... LOL

Curtis... Well I am Brag that he is a Almost a Straight A student.. He was having a little difficulty with math.. Looking at all his papers.. And he just needs some extra help with counting Groups of things that are more than 10... But... We are working on it.. and the Teacher said she would work with him more on it.. and She even sent home some papers to work on it more.. He did much better when he realized he could put a line or something marking that he already counted it. To be honest I think it has something to do with the Lead poisoning he had when he was younger. Its hard for him to SEE them things.. if you do research on Lead Poisoning... It shows that the Lead effects their systems even tho you can't see it.. something like my typing looks normal to you.... but it looks like Jibberish to them... and some sort of Jibberish code is what they see and Have to learn to decipher.. I am not saying that is what Curtis has.. but I think Its slowed him a little to figure it out. I hope he is not the kid in class that takes longer than the other to understand what he is doing. Kwim? That is why I am trying to work with him more. OH and so you know his favorite subject.. is PHONICS LOL :) He has also gotten a 100% and the +5 for the bonus every test :) WOOT he has taken 4 test now!! and they are HARD for a 1st grader... Ex. Change/Chance wow.. that would have confused me... LOL

Kyle.. Not much new to say on him.. other than we have been butting heads with him.. he thinks he is King of the House... so I try and do the Stare thing with him... You know like that teacher you had in elementary.. and you did something to tork her off.. and she would immediately give you that look that made you want to cry and pee your pants and you looked into her eyes and you new she just wanted to slap the sense back into you... KWIM? That LOOK... Well.. I have yet to really perfect it with him yet... but.. One day He will know that he can't be king forever. LOL HAHAHAHA

Clint... Well.. my Potty Trained and can carry a full conversation LOL yep... He is MOSTLY potty trained.. Except at night.. because he still sleeps in his crib.. and I don't trust him running around the house rampant yet.. Not until Kyle figures out how to stay in bed all night.. (one at a time) anyway... he speaks more than Kyle did when he was that age.. ALOT!!! Ads, Freebie, yahoo groups

Well I finally got out this weekend to take pictures.. YAY!!! Unfortunately we had more bad weather :( BOOOO!!! but I did take almost 475 pictures YAY!!!!! but All of them have to be played with so they don't look so dreary... BOOO Okay thats a roller coaster I am sure you don't want to be on...

YAY tonight is Heroes!!! I can't wait! I am excited to know more about Clares Guy Friend... also I am wondering about that Latina Chick... Obviously she killed them people.. as she should have.. but Does she turn into something like Jessica/Nikki? I want to know!!!

OHHH and did you see Desperate Housewives last nite? OMG is Eve just the Worst person you have ever met? LOL AND what about that pact the girls made? how come noone spoke up after it was made... Like I am waiting for Bree to say... IM FAKING>>> LOL Alright.. enough about that.. I don't want to spoil it for the rest of the readers that haven't seen it.. But Just had to say something..

OKay have some updating to do on my blog.. I will have to get the new collabs for October up!!:) Be sure to check them out in the side bar... They are all unique and HUGE!!!!! :)

I have a sale on my LOOK Who's Walking kit at MooTwo Designs.. :) WOOT:) 20% off till October 8th!! :)

For the yahoo groups I will add it to the side bar HOPEFULLY!!! and then you can keep track of my sales and along with the other designers.. If you are not familiar with yahoo groups.. People Post messages(in this case Ads) and they come to your email either Individually, in a Grouping of the Day, or not at all... the best way I do it is to put it on Digest... but remember you wont be alerted of the sales immediately... You could miss some sales or things... but Digest does cut down on all the messages you get in your inbox. :) Hope to see you in the Groups!!! :)

Thats all I have for today.. See you tomorrow :) Watch for the Changes to my sidebar!! :) HUGS:)
